Office Texts

Texts

Once I complete an office and I'm satisfied with the translation, the completed text will be downloadable via a link found on this page. In addition to the office propers, there is also the "pre-office prayers" (prayed before an office) and "conclusion" (prayed to conclude an office), which you can find linked before the offices. I ask for no reimbursement other than your prayers when you say these offices.

Due to issues with certain individuals not respecting intellectual property rights I have been forced to restrict access to the links. Please email me if you would like access on an individual basis.

  1. What an amazing service you are providing to the Church! Thank you. As a beginner in formation for a lay Maronite oblate order, these prayers are very helpful.
BTW, do you know if the Maronites have a psalter schema particular to their tradition (like the Eastern Orthodox divide the psalms into 20 "kathisma" spread over the course of the week)?

  2. Are Sootoro for Tuesday and Friday supposed to be the same? Every time I click the link for Sootoro of Friday, I get Sootoro for Tuesday.

Again, Ephrem, amazing work here! Thank you so much for this service.

    1. Thanks Phillip; the texts themselves are actually the proper texts. I must've forgot to change the title from Tuesday when I used it for the formatting - I'll change it when I get the chance.

  3. Just sending a message out to Ephrem to see if you are Ok. we have not heard from you in over two months, which is the longest period without a new post since you began. recognizing the situation in Syria and the instability that is going on in the whole middle east, we would just like to know that you are safe and sound. If you are able to write a post simply stating that you are well, I think we would all be most grateful. You are in our prayers.

  6. What an absolute treasure! I have been searching for many years for a translation of the shhimto. I pray it most nights but am struggling with the translation. Is it possible to have access to the inks. I am so happy to have come across this blog. Can't wait to see the translations.

  7. Hi Ephrem,

Are you thinking of translating the offices of the fenqito? Would you be able to tell us which feast days are celebrated in that particular office?

    regards

    Paul
