We ask for his mighty intercession during these times of trial in the Middle East, for he knew trial himself. By the power of God, he triumphed over his enemies. May we, too, triumph over ours - not according to our earthly wisdom, but according to the wisdom of God. Amen.
Now this hymn is to be sung to the meter of Mor Ephrem. It is interesting, as it alludes to the stories in the Acts of St. George. Enjoy the hymn, and let us use it to glorify God for His mighty works.

English Translation
Love, my Lord,
has urged me to speak about St. George inasmuch as the torments he endured in
the contest full of sufferings.
Seventy-two
judges mercilessly sentenced him, and each one of them prepared a judgment or
him that did not compare with his companion’s.
Beautiful was
the voice of George when he cried out before Dadianus, “I will not bow before
images made by carpenters.”
He (Dadianus)
was not amused at George when he saw him upon the wheel for though his hands
and feet were bound, his mouth sang glory (to God).
He saw the
wheel and did not fear
He saw the end
and it did not weary him for the love
of the Son of God burned in his mind.
It pleased
George when he prayed in the house of the widow and there sprouted a tree
which bore beautiful fruits.
Upon the bones
of the departed St. George prayed. Through his petition, he resurrected two
hundred and two souls.
Glory,
adoration and exaltation be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit, who was power for St. George in the contest full of sufferings.

Our Lord, accept our service, our prayers, come to our aid and have mercy on us!
