A very beautiful aspect of this office are the metaphors and typologies of Mary:
Like a sealed letter Mary seemed to us for in her the mysteries of the Son and His depths were concealed – a letter which was not written and then sealed, but they sealed it and afterwards wrote it for the house of God.
and
Peace be to you, Mary, the Ark of Mysteries which Moses constructed. Peace be to you, Veil of the Spirit in which the living waters were bound up. Peace be to you, Fortified City which David, son of Jesse, spoke of for God dawned from Your womb.
and
Peace be with you, Palace of Holies and Full of Graces, Spring of Mysteries and New Boat full of riches. Peace be with you, Blessed of women, our Lord is with you. You accepted conception and bore the Son in your virginity.
Our Lord, accept our service, our prayers, come to our aid and have mercy on us!
