Midnight Office of Sunday Finally Completed!

I've finally completed the Lilyo of Sunday. It is the longest of the offices and contains many beautiful prayers.
To access the Lilyo of Sunday click here.

Lilyo is a long office and rather than commenting on 16-pages of prayers I think it is better if one just prays it for themselves to see its beauty and theological truths. I will simply direct the reader to this primer post on the Lilyo if they haven't already read it.

One short excerpt I would just like to share is from the final bo'otho before the last prayer illustrative of the great paradox that is the Incarnation that was the voluntary act of divine condescension and magnified the lowly Virgin:

Blessed is Mary who was the Mother to the Son of God. Through her were raised up those who were fallen – those who had been cast down from the house of the Father. Blessed is she who gave drops of milk from her members to Him by whose beckon deluges of the great sea pour forth.
Salvation began from the immediate moment of the Incarnation when the Son condescended to enter human form. The Lord not only condescended by His own volition but then made Himself completely vulnerable and He, the Infinite, became dependent upon the finite. It is amazing to reflect upon the mystery that He was nourished by a few drops of milk while He commands the rain to fall and nourish all the earth! He who birthed creation was birthed and He who holds the world was held in the arms of a woman. And great was the faith of Mary that she should not fear - she looked upon whom the fearful cherubim do not gaze upon and she bore the one whom fiery seraphim dare not touch. The fact of her simple humanity makes the deed all the more greater because she had the same agency and will as all other humans yet excelled to be the exemplar Christian.

Our Lord, accept our service, our prayers, come to our aid and have mercy on us!
